What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Inspector position at CTS Engines?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs in-process and final inspections covering the disassembly, repair and/or assembly of aircraft engines in accordance with approved technical data and repair station requirements. Works collaboratively within a team environment and performs a wide variety of inspection tasks in support of the maintenance repair and overhaul process. Candidates shall be self-motivated and possess the abilities needed to achieve planned objectives and organizational goals.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Oversee in-process maintenance actions and document compliance in accordance with approved technical data
- Verify compliance with applicable SB’s, ADs and other customer requirements as required.
- Determine serviceability of engines, modules, and accessories prior to release to service
- Perform inspections of incoming and outgoing engines, components, and accessories to meet quality standards in accordance with the repair station/quality control manual.
- Perform Shipping and Receiving inspections to verify and properly document the incoming condition of engines, components, and accessories
- Document discrepancies and generate non-routines using company approved forms and systems
- Perform engine module and/or piece part inspection as required
- Participate in the routing of parts to external vendors using approved vendor list and accurately documenting work required in computer system (Quantum).
- Perform other duties and projects assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Possess an FAA Powerplant license with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience on GE CF6 or Pratt & Whitney PW2000 or other wide body aircraft engines
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Inspector or heavy maintenance technician
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to read, write and understand English
- Ability to read and comprehend a variety of technical data including Engine Service Manuals, Engineering Orders, Service Bulletins (SB’s) and Airworthiness Directives (AD’s), etc.
- Familiar with industry accepted inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used to determine the airworthiness of parts, components, and engines undergoing maintenance, repair, or alteration.
- Working knowledge of Quantum ERP system, a plus
- Working knowledge of FAA and foreign regulatory agency requirements
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Possess good attitude and be able to work well with others and be a team player
Working Conditions / Environment / Special Requirements
- Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirementsincluding, OSHA, EPA, FAA, DOT, and State and Federal regulations.
- As required by the position, must have the ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 "Respirator Protection" regulations with no restrictions that would prevent the proper use and/or seal of the respirator.
- Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required
- Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations
