Cook – PM Shift
Location - Midtown NYC
We are looking for experienced Line Staff to join our back of the house team for our PM shift.
The Role:
The Line staff will help our Executive Chef and Sous Chef prepare high-quality dishes for our new, upscale midtown Manhattan restaurant.
- Prepares meals by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards
- Follows recipes and instructions from Chefs in accordance with restaurant standards
- Performs specialized station duties as required or assigned by Chefs
- Tastes all ingredients as needed to ensure consistency
- Works under pressure and to take direction from kitchen chefs
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service.
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
- Maintains good relationships with coworkers and managers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- 2-3 years experience working in a high-volume restaurant, luxury or fine‐dining restaurant
- Degree from a culinary arts training program preferred
- Good knife skills
- Good communication skills
- Weekends are a must!
- Capable of handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- NYC DOH certification
- Love and passion for the hospitality industry
Compensation:
- $18-25 per hour
