Cue Health Inc. is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, highly motivated Research Associate, Cartridge Testing to join the R&D team and help the development of medical diagnostic device. Support the innovations covering all aspects of assay performance, increased performance for limit of detection, and multiplexing. Perform and assist standard protocols for a variety of methods including but not limited to QC material, ELISA and cartridge testing. The ideal candidate needs to have good organizational skills, display a proactive attitude and be flexible about their activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute experiments to test cartridges, including cartridge preparation and autopsy
  • Be responsible for ensuring that equipment and processes follow are aligned with established quality processes
  • Develop and test process modifications of the cartridge testing process
  • Communicating results and conclusions to aid in decision in a fast-paced environment
  • Support the optimization of assay conditions, product development, and multiplexing assays with Cue innovative device and technologies
  • Perform reagent QCs, baseline runs and background monitoring
  • Take ownership of maintain inventory needed for assays and cartridge testing
  • Perform clinical sample testing
  • Support the product transfer and validation according to FDA regulations
  • Work as a member of a R&D team, as well as on independent projects
  • Conduct experiments with live pathogens and human clinical samples in a biosafety level 2 lab
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task, and efficient with hands-on laboratory research
  • Learn to independently troubleshoot problems and identify solutions to technical challenges
  • Document results while keeping an organized and comprehensive experimental notebook
  • Analyze and organize data, record, and present results in a timely manner
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • B.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline
  • Hands-on experience in biochemistry, analytical or molecular biology laboratory is required
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Extremely detail oriented with excellent hands-on laboratory and experimental skills
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Understanding of the procedures and record keeping
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Environment and Physical Activities/Requirements

  • You will work in an indoor laboratory environment, which may occasionally be noisy, subject to climate and humidity requirements, and hazardous substances. This position requires the following physical activities and/or requirements:
    • Remaining in a stationary or sedentary position, often standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
    • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, including possibly tight or confined spaces
    • Reaching, crouching, or stooping
    • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
    • Gross and/or fine manipulation of items with hands and fingers
    • Adjusting, moving, carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 pounds
    • Operating machinery and/or heavy laboratory equipment
    • Communicating with others to exchange information
    • Visual acuity (far and near), including peripheral vision
