We are currently seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to manage patients in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. We support a balanced work life with job fulfillment for all our employees.
The incoming provider will commit to the highest quality of care using an organized, multidisciplinary team approach to provide continuity of care throughout the post-acute continuum. Our patient population served includes adults and geriatrics.
Duties:
- Psych Inpatient care- rounding and new patient admissions
- Coordination of care with attendings, consults, referral sources, and hospital staff
- Assessing and managing inpatient census
- Perform physical exams, obtain complete medical history, and record findings
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
- Interprets and integrates data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan
- Order/administer medication and injections as deemed medically necessary
- Instructs patient/family regarding medications, post admission care and treatments
- Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention
- Collaborates with physicians in managing acute needs of patients
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- DEA license
- BLS & ACLS certified
- Current State license
