Role Summary: 

This role is responsible for managing the IT services for the agency, including managing all company computer equipment, office AV, server and network management. This individual owns the implementation, maintenance and security of company servers, network and machines. This role will also need to be proactive and efficient , ensuring we are set up with the right technologies for today and the future.


You will manage the connectivity of multiple platforms to create a seamless user experience as well as manage the infrastructure required for the day-to-day operation to run. The success of this role is dependent on understanding of the systems while being an inherent problem-solver and clear communicator.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Hands on IT Manager with ability to manage issue tickets, with ability to delegate tasks
  • In this hands-on position, the IT Manager installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, as well as provides technical advice and support to system users. We are a MAC based organization so deep knowledge of MACs is required. 
  • Engineering of Systems Administrated related solutions for various project and operational needs
  • Installs and manages new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
  • Develops, organizes and maintains installation and configuration procedures
  • Contributes to and maintains system standards
  • Researches and recommends innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
  • Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
  • Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
  • Performs regular file archival and purge as necessary
  • Creates, changes, and delete user accounts per request
  • Provides support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues
  • Repairs and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
  • Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary
  • Upgrades and configure system software that supports GIS infrastructure applications or Asset
  • Management applications per project or operational needs
  • Maintains operational, configuration, or other procedures
  • Performs periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
  • Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
  • Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
  • Maintains data center environmental and monitoring equipment
  • Develop and Integrate data storage solutions 
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Works as part of a team to design, build, test, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
  • Supports standard system processes and enhancements to systems


Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field
  • 7-10 years of network administration or system administration experience
  • Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) certification preferred
  • Excellent Problem Solving and decision making skills
  • Excellent Organizational skills Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others using a servant leadership mentality
