POSITION DESCRIPTION
Alliant Purchasing is seeking a full-time Strategic Accounts Manager to perform a wide range of activities associated with day-to-day servicing of current/prospective GPO clients and overall development of Alliant Purchasing programs. The Strategic Accounts Manager serves as a direct link between Alliant Purchasing and existing GPO clients by managing day-to-day affairs, identifying contract opportunities, ensuring customer support & satisfaction, and increasing overall revenue.

This is a remote position based in Kentucky. All needed equipment will be supplied. This position works during standard business hours on Monday-Friday.

JOB DUTIES
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.  General knowledge of Healthcare, GPO, Pharmacy, Contracting, or clinical knowledge required.  Experience in hospitals and/or Long-Term Care.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and ability to navigate on the Internet required.
  • Servicing of clients and development of Alliant Purchasing programs.
  • Educate clients on Alliant Purchasing programs.
  • Provide phone/email support and in-field services by periodically making on-site visits to client facilities.
  • Manage client utilization of contracts to maximize revenue and profitability results.
  • Develop positive, productive relationships with leaders in healthcare and other industries to generate sales leads; participate in regional, state and national events.
  • Guide customers through the full implementation process to realize maximum savings and benefits.
  • Direct and implement strategic sales activities and account planning based on purchase plans and related objectives of prospects and clients.
  • Maintain competitive knowledge to effectively promote company’s services and actively participate in affiliate opportunities.
  • Must be able to prioritize, plan, and handle multiple tasks/demands simultaneously.
  • Over the road traveling required and some air travel including overnight stays.
  • Other duties as assigned.
ABILITIES
  • Ability to travel around region with possibility of 1-2 overnights a week. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to transition smoothly with change (as healthcare is always changing).
  • Ability to be pro-active in identifying, addressing, and resolving client or program issues.
  • Presentation of a professional image and friendly attitude with a positive customer service orientation.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and propose appropriate solutions to Senior Vice President.
  • Good phone skills to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with customers, new items, or vendors.
  • Need to be highly organized and able to handle multiple projects.
  • Must be a team player.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • College degree in business or a related field required.
  • 5 years of successful Healthcare experience preferred.
