Sourcing Material Manager
As a Sourcing Material Manager (SMM),, you will be responsible for managing a project's material flow through Sourcing and the supply base, ensuring that their assigned projects are accomplished on-schedule and within budget. You will be the single point-of-contact between the Sourcing organization and the Project Teams, coordinating all proposal and execution activities for their respective programs and/or division strategic initiatives. Lastly, facilitates effective functional Sourcing by driving the decisions and actions necessary to ensure project success.
Location: Cheswick, PA (greater Pittsburgh)
Your Challenges:
- Leads the development, implementation, and execution of material acquisition strategies
- Identifies material cost-down / cost-savings opportunities
- Coordinates identification and delivery of all long lead-time materials
- Confirms realism / validity of material cost estimates
- Maintains responsibility for overall Sourcing project focus
- Coordinates all Sourcing actions to accomplish project objectives
- Assists in setting project-related Buyer and supplier prioritization
- Communicates project activities to Sourcing and Sourcing activities to the projects
- Helps consolidate / summarize Sourcing status at a project level
- Participates in Project Team meetings
Your Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Finance, or other related field
- Eight (8) or more years of related, progressive technical or business management experience
- Experience in a highly complex, highly regulated, low volume manufacturing environment
- Experience in Supply Chain Management
- Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Project
- Strong organizational, analytical, and administrative abilities
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written/presentational skills
- Comfortable in a matrix organizational structure
- Leader, Collaborator, Communicator
- Ability to convert business needs / requirements into executable strategies
- Excellent Customer service skills with a strong understanding of Customer relationship building
- Self-starter; self-motivator; willing to do what it takes to get the job done
- Must be US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
