As a key member of the janitorial operations working within a downtown area of mixed properties including medical, manufacturing, and commercial offices; the night supervisor oversees responsibilities of shift coverage, communications, assist with project work, performing inspections, and training of staff.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Train and supervise all cleaners. Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure proper cleaning of offices areas, elevators, restrooms, common areas, stairways, cafeteria, etc.
Proper and safe use of cleaning chemicals in accordance with the company guidelines and assuring compliance with local, state and federal safety standards, MSDS, OSHA, and EPA.
Conduct regular inspections of all areas and maintaining inventory control systems of all supplies, chemicals and equipment.
Scheduling and conducting training sessions for all employees.
Respond to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective action including timely follow-up.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and customer service at all times.
Assign tasks to staff and perform daily inspections to ensure work is completed and requirements are met.
Plan and coordinate project work to ensure that proper frequencies are maintained.
Ensure that staff receives proper orientation, initial training, and on-going education.
Monitor employee attendance and performance and take proactive action when patterns of absenteeism or unacceptable performance are observed.
Ensure that all equipment and janitorial closets are clean and professional in appearance at all times
Complete required reports for items that affect safety, quality, and/or environmental policies.
Ensure a safe environment for all employees and that Personal Protective Equipment is available and worn where required.
Be familiar in the use of floor buffers, side to side, Cimex carpet cleaner.
Ability to supervisor 14 or more employees
Other duties as assigned
Must be flexible and capable to occasionally work days. Job is primarily 2nd shift
Qualifications
Ability to professionally represent C&W Services
High School Diploma or GED
Leadership ability
Minimum 6-months Commercial Floor Care experience required
Valid driver’s license with vehicle
