Job qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year work experience in a business environment preferred.
- Knowledge of mail equipment and USPS regulations helpful but not required.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills required. Must maintain a professional phone demeanor. Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational skills required. Requires ability to meet deadlines in an environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and / or confidential materials a must.
- Attention to detail.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Good problem solving skills necessary, with an ability and understanding of when to escalate a problem to a supervisory level.
- Proven customer service skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships.
Job duties
- Incoming Mail/packages:
- Date stamp, sort and distribute US Mail and special mails (Fed Ex, UPS, Parcel Post, etc.)
- Maintains files, logs and records on all incoming mail
- Deliver special and rush packages.
- Delivers mail to each department, person, or pre-established drop area as required by the client.
- Outgoing Mail/packages :
- Complete all mailings in timely manner.
- Sort and stamp outgoing mail.
- Process out going accountable packages
- Operate postage machine according to policy and regulations.
- Prepares for mailing Certified, Registered, Insured articles, special mails. Maintains files, logs, and records.
- Daily Picks up of outgoing mail and interoffice mail from each department or pre-established drop area as required by the client.
- Other:
- Maintain a clean shipping area and Van
- Communicate with supervisor or client on job or deadline issues.
- Assist in orienting new employees to the policies and procedures at the client site.
- Utilize software mail applications where applicable.
- Answer telephone in Mailroom.
- Adhere to C&W Services policies in addition to client site policies.
- Use equipment and supplies in a cost efficient manner.
- Other duties as directed by management
Job relationships
Frequent interaction with internal and external customers including staff, clients, management where courtesy and tact is required. Serves as a primary contact with clients.
