Job Posting for Seasonal Bartender at Custer State Park Resort

Summary:

Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of bar dining room by

performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

Is a minimum of 21 years of age.
Provides excellent guest service.
Is thoroughly familiar with the property and all its services and generally familiar with other lodges and activities in CSP.
Is thoroughly familiar with dining room menu items and service procedures.
Verifies minimum legal age (21) of any patron who appears to be 30 years old or younger.
Takes orders from customers and bar waiters/waitresses.
Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
Conforms to pour portioning standards set by general manager.
Serves wine and draught or bottled beer.
Uses suggestive selling methods for building check averages.
Collects money for drinks served.
Orders liquors and supplies.
Arranges bottles and glasses to make an attractive display.
Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks.
Replenishes bar snacks such as chips, popcorn, pretzels and nuts.
Keeps work areas clean and uncluttered.
May be assigned other duties, sometimes in other departments, as the need arises to support fellow staff members in achieving the company mission.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of

the knowledge and/or ability required.

Education/Experience Preferred:

Prior experience and/or training as a bartender or in a similar customer service

role is preferred.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by

an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing abilities and visual acuity.
Talking and hearing occurs continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other associates.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
Required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally

lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
