What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at CUSTOM MARINE?
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manufacturing Plant Controller to join our team at a publicly traded corporation located in the Greenville, SC area. The Plant Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, analyzing financial data, and providing strategic financial guidance to the plant leadership team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting and finance, as well as experience working in a manufacturing environment. This position supervises a staff of four providing oversight for accounts receivable, accounts payable, hourly payroll and fixed assets.
Job Duties:
Monthly closing: financial statement preparation, reporting, analysis and reconciliations.
Cost accounting: investigate source of variances and identify potential solutions including price, production, and count variances.
Management reporting: prepare standard reports and ad hoc analysis.
Policy compliance: corporate financial policies and procedures, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
Budgeting: assist with the planning process and monthly variance analysis.
Payroll: provide backup for hourly and salary payrolls.
Education / Experience:
College degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 8 – 10 years’ experience, manufacturing preferred
Syteline ERP software experience a plus
Advanced PC & Spreadsheet skills
Supervisory experience
Good communicator
