The purpose of the Purchasing Agent position is to support the Purchasing Manager by ensuring that all materials required to manufacture product is available in a timeframe that supports the manufacturing schedule and/or customer requested due date of product.

This is achieved by checking current inventory levels of raw materials / other outside purchases against job tickets and procuring any items required that are not currently on hand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Maintain adequate supply of inventoried materials by reviewing inventory levels on a regular basis and placing orders as dictated by minimum inventory counts.
  • Purchase raw materials / outside purchases for custom manufacturing by reviewing all job tickets and placing the necessary orders with delivery dates requested to meet production schedules / customer requested delivery dates.
  • Negotiate best possible pricing with vendors based on order volume and current market rates.
  • Check status of purchase orders issued to track progress and ensure a timely delivery of product.

The following Essential Duties apply to all personnel at Custom Printed Products:

  • Adhere to all policies set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Understand and participate in departmental housekeeping regulations and requirements.
  • Comply with quality control procedures through in-process inspection/detection/load marking/correction/prevention activities as applicable, and comply with quality system doctrines through adherence to work instructions/policies/procedures.
  • Comply with safety rules and guidelines in all areas of the facility; report unsafe conditions to management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • The ability to use or learn to use current software applications is required.
  • The ability to work with mathematical concepts for quantity conversions is required.
  • The ability to perform the essential duties listed above is required.
  • Fluency in the English language is required.
  • Written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Reading and reading comprehension skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize workflow are required.
  • Forklift experience

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Education:
