Custom Truck One Source has an opening for a Yard Attendant with background in operation of heavy and light duty trucks and equipment. The Yard Attendant’s primary objective is to assist customers with loading and unloading equipment. The position also consists of maintaining the appearance of the branch, assisting mechanics, drivers or other personnel with various labor-based tasks and completing other daily assignments that support the branch operations which includes delivering equipment occasionally.

- Always Maintain a safe work environment.
- Operate a variety of light and heavy equipment including power tools to complete tasks.
- Pick bodies and larger miscellaneous items for technicians and prepare them for installation.
- Oversee incoming/outgoing equipment for sales, rental, and service.
- Load and unload equipment and vehicles for drivers and customers and check for any damage.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the building, yard, and equipment.
- Monitor inventory in yard and oversee incoming/outgoing freight.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Drive a 1-ton truck with goose neck trailer.
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of heavy and light duty trucks and equipment
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Must have your own tools
- Must hold a valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s license
- Must have a driving record in good standing. To be in good standing a driver must not have any of the following violations:
- Any major violations (DWI, homicide, reckless driving, drugs, leaving the scene) within the last three years
- Two or more other moving violations and one fault accident in the last three years
- Three or more moving violations n the last three years
- Two or more at fault accidents in the last three years with no moving violations
- Extremely detail oriented and accurate
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Setting priorities and adapting to changing work priorities
- Must be self-sufficient and driven
- Meeting deadlines and schedules
- Strong attendance record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and audiogram
- General mechanical aptitude and experience with parts required. Knowledge of hydraulic, heavy equipment, diesel truck and/or farm equipment preferred.
- aptitude in working with common computer software (MS Office Suite, internet, etc.) to process orders. Knowledge of inventory software (FishBowl, etc.) to process purchase orders and tracking inventory helpful.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing a positive service experience. This includes internal client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- This job requires "people" skills and a genuine desire to service the client. A positive attitude and willingness to maintain a professional demeanor with clients and team members is essential to this position

- The ability to work as scheduled with punctual attendance 7:30 am-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday plus any additional hours/days necessary in order to meet business demands
- Frequent lifting (60-100lbs), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 10ft, significant stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout an 8-12 hours day, and up to 60 hours per week.
- Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 8 hours per day
- Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other small parts
- Occasional use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal on equipment to test operation
