Senior Truss Designer

Location: Southern Utah, growth-focused truss plant

Full-Time, in-person position

Compensation: $60-$95K DOE

PTO, paid holidays, 2-week on the job paid orientation, and future IRA contribution matching.

Signing Bonus, travel/moving expenses negotiable.

Role Summary:

Come grow with us at Custom Truss! Based in beautiful Cedar City, Utah, we are in immediate need of a Senior Truss Designer/Design Team Lead. This role reports directly to company owners, CEO & CFO. As the design team lead you will be responsible for project designs & supervising and review work of junior designers, aid in training & overseeing your team, as well as independent project management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required:

*MUST have: 4 years Truss Design software experience, ability to independently work through and resolve architectural and design discrepancies, solid understanding of leadership and positive team dynamics, experience with reading plans and architectural/engineering specifications.

*Nice to have: experience in Eagle Metal, Mitek or Alpine design Layout software a plus. Background in framing, and/or Se Habla espanol, also a plus.

*Soft Skills: detail-oriented, good verbal and interpersonal skills, troubleshooting and problem solving. Respectful with Junior and production staff.

*Day to Day activities include: field and office work, independent design and review for residential, commercial, and multi family roof and floor truss projects, site visits, daily meeting and coordination with clients which include both contractors and owner-builders. Review of design work done by junior designer(s). Preparation of build packets for production manager.

About Custom Truss: We are a small (less than 50 employees during peak season) truss company, with a family oriented atmosphere, and currently the only truss plant in Iron County. We’re in year 6 of operation and committed to providing noticeably accurate and quality trusses on projects large and small. We will soon be expanding our space to include an addition to our building including expanded office space and a conference room. We are a growing company with room for you to grow.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
