Summary/Objective: 

The Payroll Manager will oversee all functions and aspects surrounding payroll and human resources. They will supervise the organization’s functions which may include: all time card documentation being processed on time, being organized and keeping an accurate track of all payroll documentation, ensuring payroll expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time, and staying compliant with any and all governmental regulations. The goal of the Payroll Manager is to assist, maintain and have a positive impact on stakeholders, both internally and externally. You want to make sure that all procedures and policies are compliant, efficient and are up to date.

  • Develop, implements, and maintains a system to process weekly payroll account transactions (such as: salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, insurance plans, job titles, department/division transfers, disability, leave, taxes and third-party payments).
  • Ensures an accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, termination, and changes to pay rates.
  • Coordinates timekeeping and payroll systems.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Supervise, support, and train payroll and HR personnel.
  • Maintains and facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Resolves and answers payroll related questions.
  • Preparing reports and compiling summary reports.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations with confidentiality.
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and following up on work results.
  • Responsible for the management of policies, processes and practices related to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management and workforce planning.
  • Prepare reports: weekly, quarterly, and yearly.
  • Resolves any payroll issues or errors. 
  • Perform other duties assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred), Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • 5 plus years of payroll experience.
  • 5 plus years in progressive HR related experience required to include recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, time keeping, and safety, preferably within a warehouse/production environment.
  • Proficient with ADP Workforce Now (current knowledge) 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word) or related software
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritize tasks and able to multi-task
