Job Description

Join our team at Cute Cakes Bakery in Escondido, where you will be involved in various aspects of cake, pastry, and customized order decoration. You will be responsible for creating captivating designs for our bakery specials. We maintain a positive image of our company by ensuring courteous, friendly, and efficient service to all our customers and team members. All duties are performed in accordance with our standard operating procedures. Team members should be ready and capable of carrying out the tasks within other job roles when necessary. We value adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations, including food safety and departmental duties.

Responsibilities

• Creatively decorate cakes, pastries, and customized items.
• Assist in producing all essential bakery products, such as parfaits, bars, and cupcakes.
• Follow daily production levels and adjust as necessary to maintain ample product.
• Maintain production and spoilage records.
• Prepare, package, and weigh.
• Monitor product quality and ensure proper rotation for freshness.
• Punctuality and proper grooming for all shifts; attend necessary training and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond promptly to customer needs.
• Ensure maximum sales through effective product prepping, storing, rotating, and merchandising.
• Comply with established procedures, including weights, measures, health, and sanitation.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work and shopping environment; uphold equipment cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the management.

Experience

• At least 6-12 months of retail bakery experience.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
• Capable of single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Comfortable performing tasks that involve bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
• Able to tolerate temperature variations: below freezing, refrigeration level, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Comfortable working in both wet and dry conditions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Capable of using tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery.
• Comfortable using ladders, if needed.
