Job Description:

SUMMARY

The Vice President of Institutional Progress and Effectiveness at Cuyahoga Community College is a dynamic senior leadership role responsible for driving continuous improvement, strategic planning, and data-informed decision-making across the institution. This position is pivotal in ensuring the college's sustained growth, academic quality, and overall success. Serves as a member of the College’s Institutional Advancement Council.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for advancing institutional progress, efficiency, and effectiveness in alignment with Cuyahoga Community College's mission and goals strategies to improve overall performance and efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by providing analytical insights to inform institutional strategies and resource allocation.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to assess, develop, and implement initiatives to enhance student outcomes, faculty excellence, enrollment management, retention rates, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of institutional data, research trends, and assess academic programs to identify areas for improvement and growth to inform evidence-based decision-making and foster a culture of accountability.
  • Collaborate closely with academic departments and administrative units to identify opportunities for program improvement, curriculum innovation, and resource optimization.
  • Drive the strategic planning process, working collaboratively with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to set institutional goals and objectives that reflect the evolving landscape of higher education and align with the college's mission and vision.
  • Monitor efforts related to accreditation and ensure compliance with accrediting bodies, manage accreditation reports and continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide leadership in developing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor progress toward institutional goals.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for executive leadership, the board of trustees, and external stakeholders to communicate institutional progress and effectiveness.
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning and professional development, promoting best practices in data analysis, strategic planning, and quality enhancement.
  • Establish partnerships with external organizations and peer institutions to benchmark and share insights on institutional effectiveness strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion leadership to integrate principles of equity and inclusivity into institutional progress initiatives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies impacting higher education to ensure Cuyahoga Community College's competitiveness and relevance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Master's degree in a relevant field; a Ph.D. is preferred.
  • Significant experience may substitute for education.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education administration, institutional effectiveness, or strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of accreditation processes, quality assurance, and higher education regulations.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful institutional effectiveness strategies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage data to drive informed decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align institutional goals with academic, financial, and operational objectives.
  • Collaborative leadership style with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all institutional planning and operations aspects.
