POSITION SUMMARY
Describe overall job purpose
This position coordinates and directs driver activities and assignments to ensure the safe movements of crude and finished products from terminals and refinery. Accountabilities include scheduling drivers and equipment to meet the needs of internal and external customers; maintaining a consistent level of quality customer service; efficiently scheduling for the movement of bulk liquids; providing drivers and equipment for emergency repairs within various business groups; scheduling equipment to meet Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company procedures. This position will be required to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years of experience required in road/highway transport dispatching and/or driver supervision preferred
- Prior experience working with a Transportation Management System preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations, including Hours of Service
- Demonstrated knowledge of the use of Telematic Systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services, which includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- General knowledge of MS Office suite required
- Fluent in English, oral and written required
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while applying and adhering to detailed standards and protocol
- Demonstrated ability with using telephones or computers to schedule or dispatch drivers and equipment to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs
- Ability to schedule and monitor drivers to allow for compliance with DOT regulations and adherence to Hours-of-Service regulations
- Demonstrated ability to receive and prepare work orders to achieve maximum utilization of assets
- Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs

- Responsible for recording and maintaining files or records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, or other dispatch information through the use of a Transportation Management system
- Responsible for the preparation of daily work and run schedules
- Responsible for determining types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications
- Responsible for advising personnel of traffic problems, such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions or other hazards
- Perform all other dispatching duties as assigned by the management team
- Regularly Communicate with supervisor work progress, concerns, and questions
