Position Overview: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overall accounting, financial and statistical reporting activities within the organization. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information and reports, as well as the implementation of processes and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information. The Accounting Manager will manage the day-to-day accounting operations and provide leadership, guidance, and direction to accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the accounting and financial reporting process including the preparation and review of financial statements and monthly reports
- Develop, implement and maintain processes and procedures to ensure accuracy of financial information including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger
- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasting
- Develop, manage and review capital spending plans
- Manage payroll processes and handle related inquiries
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential areas of improvement
- Maintain and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Advise management on financial matters
- Maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 5 years of experience in accounting/finance
- Experience in grain operations, plant operations, or manufacturing is a plus
- Experience in agriculture is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Excel, and data analytics
- Knowledge of Great Plains, Bamboo, Intellego, and CinchX systems is a plus
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and internal controls
