Position Overview : The Merchandiser / Buyer will be responsible for researching, selecting and purchasing items from vendors that best meet the company's needs and budget.
The individual must be knowledgeable about market trends and be able to negotiate favorable pricing and terms with vendors.
Additionally, the Merchandiser / Buyer will be responsible for product development, analyzing inventories, setting up displays, and managing the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities :
- Research and select vendors based on the company's needs and budget
- Analyze market trends and make recommendations
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors
- Develop new products and manage inventories
- Set up displays and manage the supply chain
- Travel to different vendors and markets, as needed
- Maintain effective communication with vendors, customers, and other staff members
Qualifications :
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in Merchandising / Buying
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with product development, supply chain management, and market trends
- Ability to travel when needed
- Knowledge of wholesale distribution channels and marketplace
