What You Will Be Doing
Join us as a Lead Computer Scientist/Engineer to assist the National Institute of Standards and Technology to upgrade and debug their systems using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
You will work on 3 systems to :

- Upgrade Ruby from version 2.5.0 to at least 3.1
- Upgrade Rails from version 5.1.5 to at least 7
- Complete maintenance, bug fixes, and feature requests via JIRA tickets
- Containerize and provide a DevSecOps solution for these systems
What You Need for this Position
6 years experience in web-based user interface design, database systems, and commonly used software stacks for the development and deployment of web-based services
Expert knowledge of Ruby and Ruby on Rails
Ability to contribute updates to the code base using Git
Ability to create and merge branches within the repository to support the upgrade development efforts
Experience creating and maintaining containers using Docker
Ability to use JIRA issue tracking software to view and assess progress toward completing assigned tasks
Experience with best practices in an Agile software development context:
Experience with automated application testing, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and frequent build/test/deploy cycles
BA degree or higher
Expert knowledge of Ruby and Ruby on Rails
