Safety Specialist -- Storm Restoration

Position Overview : The Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel and property on construction sites by developing and implementing safety plans, performing safety inspections, and providing general safety support.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety plans, procedures, and policies to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provide safety training and education to personnel on construction site.
  • Conduct safety audits and investigations when necessary.
  • Monitor workers compensation claims and ensure proper protocols are followed.
  • Develop safety awareness programs to promote a safe work environment.
  • Provide support to personnel in the event of an emergency.
  • Assist with storm restoration demobilization activities.
  • Generate safety reports and documents.

Qualifications :

  • Safety management or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in safety management, construction safety, and / or utility system construction.
  • Knowledge of PPE, DOT, and OSHA 10 certification.
  • CUSP (Certified Utility Safety Professional) certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
