Job Description:

Client is currently seeking experienced and dedicated Main Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team in San Angelo, USA. As a Main OR RN, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the main operating room. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced surgical environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists, to ensure safe and efficient patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Assess patients' preoperative status, including medical history, vital signs, and physical examination findings, to develop individualized care plans and interventions.
• Prepare patients for surgery by providing preoperative education, administering medications, and assisting with preoperative procedures, such as IV placement and anesthesia induction.
• Maintain a sterile field in the operating room environment and adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols throughout the surgical procedure.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other surgical equipment, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, and maintaining accurate count of surgical items.
• Monitor patients' physiological responses to surgery, including vital signs, fluid balance, and hemodynamic status, and intervene promptly to address any deviations from baseline.
• Advocate for patient safety and quality of care by implementing evidence-based practices, monitoring for adverse events, and communicating effectively with the healthcare team.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and comprehensively in the electronic medical record system, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
• Provide postoperative care and monitoring to patients in the recovery room or post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), assessing for signs of complications and facilitating timely interventions as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and promote a culture of safety and excellence in surgical care.

Qualifications:

• Valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of Texas.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an RN in the main operating room (OR) setting.
• Advanced certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with members of the surgical team and other healthcare professionals.
• Commitment to maintaining professional competence through ongoing education and professional development activities.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
