Job Description:
  • Fully proficient support individual contributors.
  • Works under limited supervision.
  • May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.
  • Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment.
Responsibilities:
  • Influences successful business outcomes in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income and free cash flow for new and continuing programs. 
  • Provides business, contractual and risk mitigation strategy guidance. 
  • Analyzes new laws, regulations and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives. 
  • Protects the interest of the company by understanding and interpreting contractual terms and conditions. 
  • Utilizes working knowledge of regulations including Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (e.g. DFARS) and other agency regulations. 
  • Analyzes significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and corporate policies and procedures. 
  • Manages the contractual review of solicitations, proposal development, contract change control process and overall contract administration. 
  • Establishes and maintains primary contractual interface with the customer. 
  • Maximizes cash through innovative contract formation and negotiation to achieve business objectives.
  • Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management.
  • May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
  • Communicates with contacts inside and outside of their own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
  • Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.  
  • Responsible for performing inspections, tests and/or audits of purchased parts, units, materials, equipment, panel/module level assemblies and quality control programs to specifications. 
  • Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units, test setups, or systems for in process or final assemblies. 
  • Reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems. 
  • Maintains support documentation and performs sampling and testing of incoming components, raw materials, and build of assemblies. 
  • Reviews and reports performance data. 
  • Ensures raw materials, in-process and finished products meet company and test standards. 
  • Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection. 
  • May interface with customer quality representatives or suppliers.
Nature of Supervision:
  • Works under limited supervision.
  • Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required.
Communication and Influence:
  • Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.
  • May be a resource to other employees in areas of proficiency.
Innovation and Complexity:
  • Work may be structured within identified boundaries and procedures.
  • Follow established processes to complete tasks. 
  • Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations. 
  • Resolves most issues.
Organization Impact:
  • Works to achieve operational targets within the job area which has moderate impact on the overall achievement of results for the team. 
  • Work is of moderate scope, typically on larger, task-related activities.
Education and Experience:
  • Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills.
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Must Haves Skills:
  • Inspect mechanical and electrical hardware to determine acceptance or rejection.
  • Verification of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing against engineering drawings.
  • Utilize measurement devices tools such as Calipers, Height Gauge, Optical Comparator, micrometers, scales, and dimensional measurement systems
  • Utilize surface plates, precision measuring tools, gauges (blocks) and other mechanical inspection tools/tooling.
  • Document non-conformances and take photos of discrepancies.
  • Visual inspections of hardware using microscopes and magnifying lens.
  • Review Supplier documentation for adherence to Quality Clauses and Drawing Notes.
  • Experience in component test environment such as Temperature / Altitude test chamber and test equipment inspection/validation.
  • Support in evaluating First Article Inspection reports, CMM reports, material certs.
  • Inspect per IPC, ESD, Solder, CCA inspection, module, and chassis level inspection experience.
  • Good communication skills - Written and verbal.
Nice - To - Haves Skills:
  • If they have an active secret clearance, but this is not required.
  • Certified in IPC.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
