Job Description Cynosure is seeking a Global Marketing Upstream Innovation Manager to lead our new product development initiatives across our aesthetic energy-based portfolio of products. You will shape Cynosure’s future pipeline by helping to create innovative, modern, state-of-the art devices that will be launched around the world. Leveraging global insights, you will identify key unmet needs and create the business cases to support new product innovation. You will be the marketing representative on the product development teams from concept phase all the way through to commercialization. Strong collaboration across the global regions and with functional departments such as R&D, clinical, regulatory, legal, sales, operations & consumer marketing will be necessary for success in this role. This role will reports to the Vice President of Marketing. Duties & Responsibilities: Develop global business cases for new market and concept ideas that include strategic fit, market sizing & financial modeling, high level unmet clinical needs definition, competitive landscape, commercial implications, and go or no-go recommendations. Serve as the global marketing core team member for new product development from concept through to commercialization Collaborate with cross-functional team to meet milestones and ensure timely product launches with a high level of quality. Conduct regional and global market research to quantify the size of the addressable market. Collect Voice of Customer (VOC) associated with identifying product needs and features. Collaborate with product development (R&D) to establish unmet needs, translate to design specifications and assist in validation activities. Understand competitive landscape, integrate business needs into the product and ensure desired claims are in marketing plan. Work with finance and global regions to develop financial forecast models. Develop comprehensive marketing plans including value proposition, messaging, key claims, customer segmentation and targeting, pricing strategy and evidence-based strategy. Closely communicate with regional partners throughout NPD (new product development) process to capture primary market needs and smoothly transition management of products in preparation for launch. Partner with international/North American marketing teams to develop product launch strategy, required marketing materials and global forecasts for new products. Promote a culture of partnership with cross-functional teams while maintaining a shared level of urgency. Manage our stage gate process, enabling critical decision-making amongst key stakeholders. Assist with business development commercial assessments including input into the forecasts and deal models. Build physician network to obtain VOC for projects and business opportunities. Build strong relationships with broader marketing team (globally), KOLs, medical advisory board members and relevant societies. Design and execute (internally or with third party) qualitative and/or quantitative market research with customers and other key stakeholders. Act as a change agent within the organization and bring best practices to the cross-functional teams. Drive annual company strategic planning process. Qualifications & SkillsDemonstrated success managing multiple projects and being able to work within short timelines Ability to collaborate and work with internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Ability to develop clinical expertise in medical aesthetics field – deep understanding of customer needs and R&D opportunities Demonstrates strategic and competitive mindset Ability to define problems, assess data/facts, draw valid conclusions and create options for a way forward Ability to collaborate with colleagues around the world to understand their business needs Demonstrated success building and influencing effective relationships with team members in other functional areas EducationBachelor’s Degree or Graduate Degree, in engineering, marketing or related field required Experience 4 years of marketing, upstream marketing and/or new product development experience preferred Demonstrated experience in medical or aesthetics medical device markets preferred This position requires both US and International travel of 25%-35%.
Salary : $87,600 - $111,000
