The Role

Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking an individual to build and deploy our continuous improvement policy. Reporting to our Director of Continuous Improvement, the Continuous Improvement System Manager will own Cypress' goal of having best-in class continuous improvement policy (CI policy) and system across the organization. This leader is expected to take a hands-on approach in the development and execution of CI policy. Collaboration is a key element of this job. This leader is self-motivated and has a high-level of ownership of process, outcomes, and communication of initiatives and the ability to lead others in his/her vision.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing expertise in ISO 9001:2015, work will all business lines and shared service to write Cypress Creek Renewables' CI policy
  • Partnering with all business lines and shared services, develop and communicate the plan for deployment of the CI policy
  • Work with all stakeholders within Cypress to roll-out the CI policy and make it effective
  • Develop, own and operate the audit plan to ensure that Cypress is a learning organization, complies with the CI policy, and implements corrective and preventive actions for internal audit findings
  • Maintain the policy, and it's lower-level documents in a way that supports continuous learning and growth
  • Considering the alignment between company goals, industry needs, and company readiness, lead external certification of the CI policy in the 2024-2025 timeline
  • As part of the CI policy, develop a customer experience policy and system to drive enhancement in external satisfaction with our work
  • As part of the CI policy, develop a system of recording defects, recording Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), and delivering value to the company by driving reduction in COPQ
  • As a member of our Continuous Improvement team, support root cause analysis, kaizen events and structured problem solving as a coach, leader and mentor
  • Working with the Director of Continuous Improvement and other leaders within Cypress, perform a gap analysis and prioritize elements of the CI policy which are most needed to deliver benefit and deploy the elements according to that prioritization
  • Work with key business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing program of change
  • Support delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working
  • Identify trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement system
  • Drive a strong quality culture throughout the business via training, communication and hands-on support
  • Assist in the development of implementation of a "best-in-class" continuous improvement strategy
  • Work with team members and business services to devise new support material based on revised processes, to include training, reporting and systems enhancements
  • Ensure business impact and objectives are identified, reported on and managed

Preferred Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in technical field required. Advanced degree beneficial.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressive process improvement leadership experience
  • Expertise in developing a Quality Management System compatible with ISO 9001:2015
  • Strong leadership and management background
  • Strong analytical, project and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Experience demonstrating ownership and accountability for ideas from inception to delivery in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm success
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong organization and planning abilities
  • Highly driven and hard working with high standards for themselves and others
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Position location preferred as Durham, NC, Washington DC or East Coast, but flexible to remote DOE.
  • 30% travel expectations.
