The Role
Under general direction, Safety Coordinator OM is responsible for the implementation of company safety policies and environmental health & safety support in the Operations & Maintenance division. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for coaching field operations and sales team members to exhibit behaviors and work processes that create a safe work environment.
This position is a cross functional leadership role and will report to the Director of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) while working closely with the O&M team and Training Manager.
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines. Your main goal will be to always ensure safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents.
Safety Coordinator duties and responsibilities
- Enforce CCR and OHS policies and programs
- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
- Prepare/conduct monthly safety meetings with RMs and field technicians
- Adhere to all the rules and regulations
- Conduct risk assessments
- Respond to incidents/accidents
- Perform incident investigations and RCAs
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes
- Conduct Safety Audits, BBOs, Safety walks, etc.
- Enforce preventative measures
- Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions
- Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations
- Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety
Safety Coordinator requirements and qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role
- Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Proficient in MS Office
- Working knowledge of safety management information system
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Team player
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Certificate in occupational health and safety (OSHA 500 preferred)
