QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized, accredited college or university
Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in the field of commercial construction architecture or engineering is preferred.
A registered architect or professional engineer in the state of Texas
Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as an Owner's Representative in the planning, design, and construction of educational facilities preferred.
Leadership ability is necessary to effectively communicate with and supervise personnel within the Facilities Planning and Construction Department, outside consultants, and contractors.

$100,825 BA-8
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2022-2023
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate with other Facilities staff as necessary in order to support CFISD's multidisciplinary mission providing an efficient communication channel for the coordination of project activities, project resolution, and long-range planning.
Oversee coordination and facilitation of all aspects of portable classroom building moves and master planning throughout the district.
Oversee and facilitate creating, administering, and bidding on various Facility and Construction related annual contracts.
Oversee and facilitate all districtwide Bond-related furniture replacements.
Responsible for working with County/Precinct issues, performing as District Liaison to the county to address traffic issues, school zone signage, and signal lights, as required.
Assist in the management and assessment of District facilities for future bond referendums.
Work with the Director of Design and Facilities Planning to oversee, maintain and update the District's Educational Specifications and all design guideline standards.
Oversee and facilitate design programming and construction document meetings/reviews including but not limited to schematic design, design development, 50%, 75%, 95%, and QAQC completion levels prior to issuing contractor proposals/bids.
Assist with the review and coordination of drawings and specifications with other departments within the District as may be required to ensure documents are complete and accurate.
Provide technical support including but not limited to reviewing construction plans and specifications to provide recommendations of design changes, equipment selections, and construction approaches as needed to ensure adherence to energy, building, and life safety codes.
Facilitate the receipt of proposal and evaluation phase for construction contract award recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
Maintain design files in SKYSITE document management system.
Oversee and facilitate Bond renovation modifications and maintenance of the site and building AutoCAD plans for all district buildings. Work with Special Projects Manager to maintain and update changes resulting from building modification or special project requests at completion into District's as-built drawing documents.
Develop, oversee and facilitate communication with building principals and administrators during all phases of project design.
Work with Maintenance, Operations, and other departments as may be necessary to obtain and incorporate input during the design phase reviews.
Oversee and facilitate the creation, coordination, and maintenance of the Facility and Construction Project Bond Master Schedule.
Assist in establishing and enforcing procedures/policies to ensure compliance with, including but not limited to, District local & legal policies, District administration regulations, federal and state law/mandates, and bond fund restrictions.
Represent the District in disputes involving the design, drawings, or specifications involving the architect or contractor.
Serve on Committees to periodically review, evaluate and approve building products, systems, and equipment for inclusion in the District standards.
Meet with governmental review agencies on issues involving code changes, facility approvals, and other design and construction-related matters.
Conduct Team performance evaluations and handle personnel issues.
Perform other duties as assigned by but not limited to, Director of Design and Facilities Planning, Assistant Superintendent of Facilities and Construction, and/or Associate Superintendent of Facilities Construction and Support Services/Chief Operations Officer.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
