POSITION SUMMARY: The Advanced Lung Disease (ALD) and Lung Transplant Program aims to improve the care and long-term outcomes of individuals with CF and advanced lung disease by optimizing decision-making and access to lung transplantation and improving outcomes after lung transplantation. The ALD and Transplant Research Program Specialist will work closely with the ALD and Transplant team providing primarily research portfolio support. Project areas of support will vary based on evolving priorities of the ALD and Lung Transplant Program and may include but are not limited to research study coordination and progress, tracking of programmatic progress and completion of milestones, development and maintenance of research-related regulatory documents, organization of clinical research files and correspondence, partnering with internal and external groups for study development and maintenance. This person will have solid professional knowledge and expertise and have the ability to process and interpret information independently. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Research Program Management Support: Support the ALD/Transplant team and research-related areas of work. Monitor the shared lung transplant-research related email inboxes and promptly follow-up consulting the ALD/Transplant team as appropriate. Attend select meetings to take meeting minutes to be disseminated to attendees. Fundamental knowledge of lung transplant or CF and clinical research coordination needed to properly disseminate information from meetings. Align the team through documenting, tracking, and follow-up on various research project logistics, program progress and action items by updating and maintaining the team’s Wrike and/or equivalent systems. Organize and maintain the Team’s shared OneDrive research folders with all relevant files to ensure sustainable, accurate record-keeping. Communications and Content Creation: Provide professional and responsive communication to transplant and CF physicians, clinical care team members, research investigators, research team members and other groups within the CF and transplant community- both internally and externally. Support the team’s collaborations and idea generation serving as a liaison between various partners such as: the CFF Patient Registry, CFF Grants team and Communications Teams, and externally the CFLTC Steering Committee, CFLTC Coordinating Center, and various research investigators. Contribute new approaches and offer solutions in support of the ALD transplant team. Research Operations Support: Provide study start-up and management support for studies within the ALD/transplant research portfolio. Provide data and budget/grant management support for studies within the ALD/transplant research portfolio. Manage Registry user account creation and maintenance. Field Registry-related questions from study teams. Develop materials including presentations, reports, agendas, and minutes. Travel to select conferences/meetings as appropriate. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biology, public health, or related field. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience (may include internships) in health care, academic, or public health setting. Flexibility is required, as is the ability to work independently, and as part of a team. Advanced communication skills both verbally and written. Strong attention to detail for both completeness and accuracy. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other data analysis software as needed. Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities as needed. Ability to work well with diverse types of people at all levels. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the program information and exercise proper discretion and judgement. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Fundamental understanding of clinical research design, implementation, and study management. Clinical Research coordination experience including regulatory management, IRB submissions and management, participant screening and enrollment, study procedures. Fundamental knowledge of lung transplant and/or CF. Understanding of CFF’s organizational infrastructure and support of clinical and research communities. Eagerness to learn from and grow with the team. Experience efficiently using technology to manage work responsibilities. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Senior Program Manager, Translational Lung Transplant Research. No direct reports. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature. No heavy lifting required.
