Drug discovery and development use a broad variety of novel biochemical and cellular approaches to identify compounds that improve cardiac and skeletal muscle metabolism, mitochondrial function, and contractility. Innovative design and execution of experiments that facilitate the successful discovery of drugs that improve human health is our primary goal. We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Manager to join our Research group to help drive our drug discovery efforts and enhance the efficiency of our scientific work.
Responsibilities:
- Manage common supply, lab reagents, and consumables.
- Query inventory, assess and maintain chemical supply (e.g., RFID)
- Manage the general maintenance, documentation, and training for common instruments.
- Facilitate onboarding and training for basic laboratory procedures and safety.
- Point of contact/liaison between research staff and facilities/EH&S
- Ensure compliance of procedures set forth by research leadership.
Qualifications:
- The position requires a BS or MS in chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, physiology, or related field with a minimum of 2-3 years of laboratory experience in an academic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology setting.
- Possess general knowledge of basic laboratory procedures, techniques, and safety.
- The ideal candidate will also have substantial experience in managing laboratory resources and inventory.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel and GraphPad is preferred.
- An ability to multitask, strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and flexibility are required.
- Enthusiasm for working in a team-based, multi-disciplinary environment, paired with excellent verbal and written communication skills, is required.
