D&G Machine is seeking a highly motivated individual who possesses a high level of
mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail and proven ability to deal with complex
problem solving to fill a full-time position of Weld Inspector.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Inspects and tests welded joints of work in progress and of completed units for

visible defects, correct dimensions, joint strength, bead formation, weld
penetration, and conformance with layout, blueprint, and work order
specifications, applying knowledge of welding principles and metallurgical
properties.

• Examines joint and detect flaws, such as cracks, cold weld, spatter, and

undercuts, using flashlight and magnifying glass.

• Inspects joints for hidden cracks and pits.

• Performs stress tests on joint, using stress testing equipment, or prepares

sample for stress testing, and reviews results.

• Verifies alignment and dimensions of product and setup of machines and fixtures

used for work in progress.

• Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and

measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

• Marks defective pieces and recommends scraping or methods of reworking.

• Welds, tests, and inspects metal samples to determine most effective welding

process and techniques if needed.

• Documents all inspections, computations, results, and feedback provided.

• Inspects weldments to determine if they meet specifications and material

standards.

• Interprets regulations, codes, and industry standards properly.

• Uses a computer to compile and submit daily reports and inspection reports, as

well as for inter-office communications.

• Ensures that work is implemented as required in the project specifications.

• Compiles and submits completed inspection reports in a timely manner.

• Pays attention to detail and is capable of recommending/approving repairs and

performing visual inspection of completed work.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• 1-3 years in weld inspection or related experience preferred.

• Extensive knowledge of industry standards including AWS, ASME, API (577)

• Advanced knowledge of TIG, MIG, laser, butt, and arc welding techniques.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and documents.

• Must be reliable and punctual.

• Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing), listen, assess, and

problem solve.

• Must pass a post-employment offer drug screen and background check.
