Chief Information Officer (CIO)
The CIO is responsible for defining and executing overall strategies, ensuring security, and creating/enforcing policies and procedures regarding information technology and cyber awareness for the organization. The CIO further provides technical vision, planning, and implementation of improvements to ensure execution is in accordance with established and accepted best practices for the IT industry. The CIO also serves as the resident technology expert on all matters relevant to the organization’s business to ensure smooth operations and continuity. The CIO leads an internal team of customer service focused technicians providing support to all departments within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops, recommends, coordinates, and implements new or revised procedures, policies, programs, and equipment to ensure IT effectiveness.
- Analyze current technology infrastructure and align it with the organization’s strategic business plan.
- Oversees system analyses and computer projects from problem definition through system implementation.
- Work closely with other members of the leadership team to create IT strategic plans for future business growth.
- Establish and implement the IT department operative goals and objectives.
- Identify, develop, and implement a plan for new technologies needed to grow/sustain a healthy business culture.
- Monitor, benchmark and evaluate system performance.
- Prepare and manage budget; identify, justify, and submit capital improvement plan needs.
- Responsible for the management of systems specifically critical to operations that operate 24 hours/day, 365 days per year and develop contingencies for continuity of operations under different emergencies and restricting conditions.
- Oversight of the help desk to support business and customer functions.
- Ensure the security of the business and assets and stay ahead of cyber security threats.
- Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan for the technical systems and network.
- Ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of all electronic records for the organization.
- Develop succession planning for critical/essential functions.
- Manage vendors and support teams.
- Assists as top-level contact for end users in determining IS requirements and/or solutions.
- Ensures compliance with government regulations that apply to systems operations
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, business, or technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in information systems.
- At least 7 years of experience in a leadership role
- Experience in the Manufacturing or Concrete Industry a plus
- Previous experience in the following is one of the following is preferred:
- Process manufacturing
- Logistics
- Retail
- SMB ERP implementations
- Current and on-going knowledge of computer and server hardware, software, and data communications including comparability and system configuration as well as Cloud transformation
- Extensive knowledge of MS365
- Exceptional listening and communication skills
- Project management experience
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, strong, oral and written communication skills,
- The ability to plan and execute projects within time and budget constraints
- Integral knowledge of cybersecurity and related best practices.
Technical Experience: In addition to the general qualifications, the candidate must also possess at least four (4) years of verifiable hands-on technician level experience with any combination of technologies currently in use within the organization. Candidates having both verifiable experience and/or vendor level certifications (as applicable) in the areas listed below will receive preference.
- Microsoft Server Operating Systems including O365 and MCSE 2012 or newer certification.
- VMware Virtualization with an active VCP5-DCV or greater certification.
- VMware Virtualization with an active VCP5-DT or greater certification.
- Fortinet Firewalls, Load Balancers, and Internet filters with an NSE-5 or greater certification.
- HP Lefthand storage systems and HP ATP – Storage Solutions or greater certification.
- HP Procurve Networks with HP ASE – Networking or greater certification.
- Nutanex hyperconverged infrastructure. Crowd Strike end point protection.
- Fiber optic networking, campus infrastructure management.
- Data center management, data routing and system recovery
