JROTC CFI Instructor

D2 Flight Academy is seeking qualified candidates for a Certified Flight Instructor at our flight school for our up and coming JROTC pilot training program.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Conduct facility tours and familiarize clients with policies, procedures, and flight training courses
• Perform flight instructor duties in accordance with FAA Regulations pertaining to Part 61, 141, the approved Training Course Outline and course syllabus
• Ensure satisfactory progress through the course and immediately inform Chief instructor of any delays in training or unsatisfactory progress
• Ensure that course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by all students
• Accurately maintain student records to include logbooks, computer and training records
• Ensure timely course completion of students, including completion of required paperwork
• Monitor maintenance status of aircraft and inform maintenance of any questionable items
• Attend administrative, standardization, and recurrent training
• Ability to work in a confined area
• Light to moderate lifting is required

Minimum Requirements

• FAA Certificated Flight Instructor, Airplane Single Engine Land; Preference given to Instrument Instructor, Multi-Engine Instructor
• Must hold a current FAA Medical Certificate

Abilities Required

• Aircraft piloting skills, including familiarity with and ability to perform required flight maneuvers
• Knowledge of and ability to apply effective instructional technique in the classroom and in flight
• Knowledge of appropriate Federal Aviation Regulations and related administrative and operational procedures and requirements
• Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced and noisy environment
• Strong customer service skills
• Maintain an 80% pass rate for stage checks and checkrides
• Must be able to work weekends
