The Printing Lead is responsible for facilitating and directing the workflow to achieve daily targets within the graphics department including prioritizing jobs, ordering supplies, and communicating with all other departments within the organization. Works with manager on special projects and supports our continuous improvement program
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives work order and job assignments from database
- Determines work order priority based on customer need and printer capacity, assigning work orders to each functional area
- Aid in the setup of printers used in the production of custom printed substrates
- Troubleshoot minor technical problems as they arise
- Works with Management and Engineering team to identify new technologies
- Coordinates with manager on training of new hires across all jobs within the department
- Communicates with appropriate departments on active production orders, issue resolution and shipping with written, verbal and system communication.
- Act as a resource to answer customer questions that come through the Contact Center
- Request material needed from the appropriate department
- Creating and revising templates in preparation for full print production.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
- Cross train on all graphics job functions
- Other duties as required
SKILLS
- Basic Adobe Illustrator experience
- Intermediate Computer skills
- ERP and WMS system experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple pieces of equipment at one time
- Ability to use judgement and experience to establish appropriate accept/reject criteria
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand 8 plus hours per shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30lbs unassisted
- Frequent lifting and carrying weighing up to 80lbs assisted
- Visual acuity to perform job duties, including visual examination of finished printed substrates
- Sufficient hand dexterity required to perform job duties
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferable with custom printing exposure
