As the Packing team lead at the D2G Group, you'll be responsible for performing a range of functions in the distribution center such as: assist supervisor/manager, coaching and developing of new and existing employees. In addition, the warehouse lead is responsible to help achieve department goals by having an open line of communication with management.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Resource planning to maximize efficiency and ensure operational success.
- Managing the daily work plan with supervisor’s assistance.
- Provide daily hands-on support for the department.
- Provide recommendations on process improvement and assist in implementation.
- Assist supervisor to effectively handle planned and unplanned workflow in the department(s).
- Provide effective communication and support to all departments within the company.
- Communicates with Supervisor/Manager daily to ensure that department goals are being met.
- Assist in providing job training, development, cross-training, coaching, and mentoring to new and existing employees.
- Ensure that all orders received by 4PM, are shipped regardless of daily variations and business levels.
- Help deliver and manage a safe working environment by training and implementing superior housekeeping standards.
- Maintain distribution center cleanliness through consistent monitoring.
- Monitor accuracy and activity in inbound/outbound operations.
- Other duties as required.
SKILLS
- Must have intermediate computer and Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to work independently demonstrating initiative.
- Self-Starter: ability to adapt or change work practices, priorities, and/or procedures to meet the demands of the business.
- Effective communication skills
- A team player with a positive attitude towards work and team engagement.
- Ability to learn our company’s WMS system, inbound and outbound functions.
- Proactive with problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Ability attain certification for forklift operation.
- Regularly required to stand, bend, twist, pull, and push for a minimum of (8) hours per day.
- Must be Spanish speaking
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous team lead management required
