D3 Engineering is seeking a Project Coordinator to coordinate hardware and software projects in either a research and development or engineering services environment. The Project Coordinator is responsible for the initiating, planning, executing, and closing activities for projects related to D3 Engineering’s product portfolio (i.e., autonomous machines, sensors/imaging/optics, edge computing and algorithms, and robotics and electrification).

Responsibilities:
- On-time delivery of embedded systems projects
- Define and manage customer requirements and deliverables
- Develop a work breakdown structure to drive the creation of project schedule and budget
- Maximize billable hours to drive profitability of assigned projects
- Negotiate resource allocations in a matrixed environment
- Provide guidance to diverse, cross-functional project teams
- Utilize mature risk management techniques to identify and minimize project risks
- Prepare reports to communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions
- Ensure change management practices are followed to document changes in requirements
- Implement project closing activities
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience:
- Basic knowledge of theoretical and practical project management concepts
- Experience coordinating projects for clients external to the organization
- Use of project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project)
- Basic understanding of common PM Knowledge Areas as outlined in the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®)
- Experience applying solid risk management processes
- Adaptability to an ever-evolving technical environment
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience using negotiation skills
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Project Management or similar program or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience as a Project Manager or relevant experience
- Experience with product development and/or engineering services
