Duties & Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments of materials, parts, and components.
• Compare received items to purchase orders, packing slips, and other documentation to verify accuracy.
• Update inventory records and stock levels to reflect received items accurately.
• Prepare materials, parts, and components for outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging and documentation.
• Coordinate with carriers and freight companies to schedule pick-ups and deliveries.
• Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
• Arrange transportation and logistics for outgoing shipments, considering cost and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure timely availability of materials for production.
• Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality and packaging standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area.
• Perform regular inventory counts and assist in cycle counting activities.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipment status and tracking.
• Assist in resolving any shipping discrepancies, damages, or delivery issues.
• Adhere to safety protocols and proper handling procedures for hazardous materials.
• Utilize inventory management software and tools to track and manage shipments and inventory.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certification or training is a plus.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing.
• Proficiency in using inventory management and shipping software preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues, carriers, and vendors.
• Knowledge of shipping regulations, requirements, and best practices.
• Basic understanding of inventory control and stock management.
• Proficiency in using shipping and receiving software and systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Work in various areas of the facility, including the stockroom and different departments.
- Frequent walking and standing.
- Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects (up to 30 lbs.).
- Use of protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
