Scheduled Work Hours: Part-time schedule with coverage needed from 3:30 P.M. - 6:30 P.M. Monday - Friday; Flexible with the rest of the schedule; Hours can increase during the summer
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Item Processing Supervisor, this position is responsible for assisting with multiple daily duties related to item processing including ensuring check information is valid, transmitting settlement files, balancing end of day reports, and providing communication to branch locations when necessary.
Primary Accountabilities
The accountabilities of this job are as follows:
- Key rejected MICR information to ensure dollar amounts, serial numbers, accounts, and routing numbers are all correct. This may consist of checks, deposit tickets, withdrawals, cash tickets, and other records of bank transactions.
- Reconcile branch capture transactions, reaching out to Dacotah Bank locations when necessary to ensure all information is correct.
- Mail out adjustment letters to customers with clear communication of discrepancies.
- Process on-us checks for all branch locations and ensure end of day reports balance.
- Process the outgoing cash letter for transit items.
- Process Canadian items and charge corresponding fees.
- Verify signatures on large dollar checks.
- Receive telephone inquiries from internal staff regarding customer and bank related questions, and provide a timely answer.
- Learn additional duties in order to facilitate day-to-day operations of other personnel in the department.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer account information, and follow established policies and procedures.
