Job Summary
Under the direction of the Lending Officer, process loan documents, supporting documents and renewals for all lending officers. Ability to perform all the duties associated with Loan Department operations in primary support of the Lending Department.
Primary Accountabilities
- Perform all duties necessary to originate loan documents on the Banks loan processor system as directed by lending officers. Ensure the accuracy of these documents prior to giving to lending officers for loan closing.
- Assist in full range of duties pertaining to the loan processing, servicing, auditing and reporting function, including but not limited to the uploading and input of new, renewed, extended and paid off loans and file maintenance of all loans.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to customers.
- Obtain credit bureau reports as requested.
- Stay abreast of all credit systems (LaserPro) software changes and updates. Serve as the primary source of information on this software and share changes with appropriate staff as needed. Incumbent should have a thorough knowledge of the system, its capabilities and its application in the Bank’s lending environment.
Secondary Accountabilities
- Conduct special projects as assigned by supervisor.
- Provide assistance to new employees as needed.
- Provide assistance to co-workers or customers with difficult problems or inquiries. Ensure prompt and courteous response to customer inquiries.
- Provide input regarding the establishment of goals for the loan department and implementation of same as necessary.
- Prepare and maintain reports, sorting and filing in appropriate manuals/books.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Attainment of One - Two (1-2) years' bank customer, mortgage, or commercial loan processing/servicing experience or equivalent education in bank credit processing/servicing procedures and policies.
- Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of an Associate degree in Finance. In addition, specific technical school or AIB courses in commercial lending, consumer credit, real estate lending and/or licensing banking operations or equivalent experience is required.
- Successful accomplishment of specified performance objectives as outlined for the incumbent by the department and/or Bank management.
- Excellent verbal communication skills as evidenced by the ability to interact both in-person and over the telephone with customers and co-workers. Demonstrated ability to use discretion, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with customers and co-workers, and a positive professional appearance at all times.
