Position Summary: 

The primary duty of the Final Assembly Line Manager is overseeing and directing Production employees. The Manager may assign personnel to specific tasks or stages, monitor processes to ensure that employees perform them correctly, and monitor the entire Manufacturing/Assembly process to prevent delays and provide instruction. This aspect of the role requires the Final Assembly Line Manager to ensure that supporting departments and individual stages work together and effectively.


   

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Accomplish Company goals by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain staff by training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between supporting departments and stages.
  • Complete Manufacturing/Assembly plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on Gemba and monthly summaries.
  • Maintain quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensure operation of equipment and through Facilities, call for repairs.
  • In cooperation with the Industrial Engineering, provide Manufacturing/Assembly performance data by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing Manufacturing/Assembly performance.
  • Ensure timely response to questions and requests.
  • Through Training, Corporate Initiatives, Finance, Document Control and Quality Assurance, creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintain regulatory compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Learn, teach and apply Lean Manufacturing, six sigma, or equivalent processes and procedures including 5S and SeeD disciplines. 
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending personal training.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has overall supervisory responsibilities for the Final Assembly Line.  This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this units; and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The manager is responsible for to accomplish goals and manage properly the assigned department(s) budget(s). Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or equivalent preferred. Equivalent years of relevant work experience may be used to meet educational requirements.
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace manufacturing/Assembly experience is highly desirable.
  • 1 year of experience having leadership over a large 30 people team is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with emphasis on Excel.
  • Experience in large equipment manufacturing and aviation are most highly valued, followed by general manufacturing, and lastly any industry or sector.
