Inside the Role

Daimler Coaches North America, LLC headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina, in close alignment with DTNA, is the exclusive North American distributor of Daimler’s luxury touring motor coaches.

Manages and coordinates with and E2E responsibility and understanding the spare part supply chain for Daimler Coaches North America. Responsible for long-term spare part supply chain strategies, the development and implementation of processes, methods and digital solutions that have the goal to improve supply chain performance . Monitors operations planning performance indicators, cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives. Performs supply chain and logistics job family groups such as material procurement, material planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution.

Position offers a starting salary range of $98,500 - $126,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DCNA

  • Central hub in the supply chain collaboration between DCNA, DTNA, the PDI in Jacksonville, the plant in Turkey, the 3PL for the warehouse and outbound operations and the central functions in Germany.
  • Leading role in the processual development of the spare parts business at DCNA.
  • Decision maker for daily activities that are guided by policy, procedures, and business plans with oversight from manager.
  • Development of system and process landscape together with other business units on a national and international level.
  • Procurement management, source, negotiate, and procure bus spare parts from national/international, internal/external suppliers
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal process partners.
  • Developing and continuously improving purchasing, sourcing and material planning process standards.
  • Develop and manage DCNA’s Aftermarket supply chain for DCNA’s Aftermarket by coordinating the material planning.
  • Participate in cross-functional supplier management activities, identifying and communicate supplier risks, develop supplier relationships that help foster continued growth and partnership and develop fallback strategies for identified risks.
  • Initiates, participates in continuous improvement project work to help move the department towards the strategic goals.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate supply-related programs for DCNA marketing campaigns, supplier constraint management, component life cycle planning, product Changeovers and introductions, Etc.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration, collaborate with internal teams, including sales, production, and finance, to align supply chain activities with overall business goals.
  • Analyze and diagnose supply chain trends.
  • Developing relevant KPI to ensure the performance of the supply chain and the involved stakeholder (planning efficiency, performance 3PL, supplier performance etc.)
  • Creating cluster for the different roots of disturbances in the supply chain and present finding and recommended actions to the Head of Spare Parts from DCNA.
  • Coordinate with AfterSales-Service department and customer service from Daimler Buses headquarter the field and marketing campaigns.
  • Alignment with the technical parts and field support to ensure highest customer satisfaction and efficiency of the material planning strategy.
  • Utilize lean principals to continuously improve departmental processes, standardize and document best practices, help develop and train new employees.
  • Responsible for staffing decisions such as hiring, firing, rewarding, training, and developing employees with oversight from manager.
  • Other duties as required by the Aftermarket needs.
  • Compliance and Regulations, stay informed about international trade regulations and customs requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and documentation.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS/BA AND 4 -7 years of relevant experience OR 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Working knowledge and expanded professional experience in job field
  • Understanding of key business drivers and the product
  • Working independently within guidelines and policies to solve problems of great complexity
  • Can evaluate the impact and prioritize between the conflicting interests of the relevant stakeholder
  • Lead projects or processes as required
  • Entrepreneurial perspective on identified challenges and tasks
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills required
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
  • Leadership skills to develop and guide a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required
  • Startup mentality
  • Ability to develop own approaches on new challenges and to align the ideas in order to establish them as a defined process.
  • Experience in Supply and Logistics

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Degree in Engineering, Marketing or Economics
  • SAP experience
  • Training and / or experience in Lean principles, problem solving and process optimization techniques preferred
  • Travel may be required <30% of the time
  • Related experience in international Spare Parts Supply preferred
  • Experience with the specifics of coach industry
  • Technical Understanding of coaches
  • German language
