General Purpose:
Safely operate the evaporator or dryer at or above the production and quality standards and CIP system while maintaining a safe, clean work environment. Perform master sanitation and provide assistance to maintenance with preventive maintenance task.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaporator operator must know the type of product, the silo source, and all handling procedures involved each time he/she operates the evaporation process
- Dyer operator receives pasteurized condense whole or non-fat from the evaporators. It is this employee’s responsibility to spray dry this product. The operator runs highly sophisticated spray dryers which can dry milk product at a high rate of output. This employee maintains the production of a uniform product that is immediately sent to packaging
- Must have a full understanding of product flow from the milk silos to packaging department
- Ensure all quality assurance checks are performed at designated intervals
- Ensure all paperwork is done correctly and completely at designated intervals
- Ensure all recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory regulations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area throughout the facility and common areas
- Constantly look for continuous improvement and process improvement
- Perform all other duties deemed appropriate, necessary, required, or directed by the plant management
- Safeguard and protect all company assets in his/her care
- Make decisions in a timely manner
- Anticipate problems and implement solutions
- Demonstrate good judgment in safeguarding customer, company, vendor, and employee information

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to use and understand calculations, production rates, and fluid inventories
- Must prepare and comprehend evaporator logs, master sanitation schedule, and fellow employees
- Must be able to perform routine machine adjustments
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Able to identify problems, take appropriate steps to find solutions to problems, and implement recommended solutions
- Able to take on additional responsibility when both big and small tasks need to be done
- Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork and promptly share relevant information with others
