What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher - Split Shift position at Dairy Farmers of America?
General Purpose:
Expedites cooler and load out activities to ensure finished product is loaded correctly and meets customer order and delivery requirements. Receives incoming finished goods and makes inventory adjustments through JDE system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the cooler load out activity ensuring that customer orders are loaded in sequence to meet customer order requirements.
- Prints and assembles picking slips in loading sequence for cooler employees; prepares ship/confirms and processes picking documents. May select and assign customer or branch orders by truck or route.
- Provides delivery drivers and cooler employees necessary loading procedures and load diagrams to ensure accurate loading of finished products.
- Enters and/or changes internal or external orders into the JDE system so all product sales leaving the cooler is on a computerized load out ticket.
- Coordinates with distribution to resolve customer complaints, special deliveries and/or order adjustments.
- May assist cooler leads in directing spotters or yard employees to move trucks or trailers to expedite unload and load processes to meet delivery schedules.
- May receive all in-coming finished goods. May load items into the JDE system to ensure timely and accurate inventory counts in order to minimize shortages and out-of stocks. May enter all inventory adjustments - dumps, out-of code product, reprocess milk etc. in order to confirm inventory is reflected properly.
- May perform JDE file maintenance; new product setup, sequencing, obsoleting discontinued product, etc.
- Performs other responsibilities as determined by business needs.
HOURS: 12 HOUR SHIFTS, 2 DAYS, 2 NIGHTS
- Associates degree in Business or Distribution plus 1-2 years of experience in warehousing, dispatch, or transportation or 3-4 years of experience in warehousing, dispatch, or transportation
- Working knowledge of general business concepts and practices, especially as they related to the dairy business. * Familiarity with fundamental mechanical concepts and practices with an emphasis on dairy industry production practices, processes, and equipment.
- Ability to demonstrate professional oral and written communication skills
- Efficient computer skills in excel and word including internal software applications.
