What are the responsibilities and job description for the Milk Receiver position at Dairy Farmers of America?
General Purpose:
Monitor the intake receiving area and assure proper flow of incoming milk and other products. Load out cream and perform all quality tests. Test milk for contamination, quality and antibiotics (a critical control point). Perform scheduled cleaning activities. Direct truck drivers on parking and checks for security of milk.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate scale printer, record truck weights, time of arrival and departure
- Direct trucks to unloading stalls
- Unload and monitor milk shipments
- Monitor levels of tanks
- Flexibility to vary work schedule dependent upon production and staffing needs
- Assure accurate accounting of incoming raw milk and condensed skim milk
- Conduct laboratory testing of milk for quality
- Conduct antibiotics testing on milk (CCP)
- Wash and sanitize silos and associated equipment
- Report all equipment malfunctions and abnormalities to Plant Shift Supervisors, Management, and or Maintenance
- Maintain a clean organized and professional work area at all times in accordance to 5S methodology, which is to create a clean orderly environment where there is a place for everything, and everything is in its place
- Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
- Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
- Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
- Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
- Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
- Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have good work history
- Ability to use simple writing, adding, subtraction, whole numbers, and carrying out instructions
- Ability to use direct reading instruments and devises in which interpretation is not required
- Perform basic quality testing as necessary
- Understand receiving and shipping system to effectively troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at once
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
