General Purpose:
Manage the strategic sourcing of finished goods manufactured by Co-Manufacturers, ensuring consistent procurement standards and activities across business units. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including, but not limited to, operations, optimization, and sales to understand business objectives, establish goals in support, and deliver expected results. Support the formation and execution of complex category strategies. Focus on optimizing the value stream through the development and execution of both near-term (e.g., RFPs) and multiyear (e.g., sourcing strategies) campaigns, and prioritization of initiatives in support of business objectives. Lead the management of supplier relationships; align priorities with internal stakeholders such as business leaders, research and development, operations, and quality; lead campaign implementation across business units where appropriate; and continuously seek opportunities to maximize total value delivered to Dairy Farmers of America.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies through process and tools definition, training, utilizing strategy calendar for all material spend under management, targeting spend efficiency (cost savings), portfolio/material optimization, and innovation
Support team and cross-train on complex strategy development; adapt quickly to changing business priorities
Define cost-savings targets through analysis and identification of "addressable" spend and understanding of business goals
Deliver against defined savings targets, and develop robust pipeline of viable projects for the future (2-5 -year time horizon)
Monitor purchasing activity against contractual details for opportunities and issues (e.g., contract expiration, thresholds (both spend and volume), non-compliant spending)
Monitor inventory and help optimize replenishment plans
Actively participate in the resolution of co-manufactured aging finished goods and raw material inventory
Oversee monthly inventory reconciliation for DFA owned materials and drive resolution of inventory discrepancies
Review and manage invoice issues, shipping errors, replacement of materials not meeting company specifications, and cancellation of orders, keeping stakeholders abreast of status throughout the process
Own maintenance of Material Requirements Planning settings for finished goods and direct materials under individual purview
Collaborate with Stakeholders to identify, document, and resolve sourcing issues (e.g., quality claims, late shipments, blocked invoices, incorrect invoices)
Obtain supplier specifications and assist R&D and Engineering with conversion to DFA specifications
Collaborate with QA to ensure list of qualified co-manufacturers accurately reflects current portfolio
Maintain all co-manufacturing Procurement master data (e.g., PIR. Source List)
Maintain and update related co-manufacturing documentation (e.g., co-man playbook, co-man process flow, co-man receiving/inventory training documentation)
Develop and maintain sourcing calendar
Live DFA's core values and let them be the guiding principles for every decision in the procurement process
Demonstrate strong business acumen such as knowledge and understanding of the financials, marketing, and operating functions of an organization; apply good judgment and make smart decisions
Comply with DFA policies (e.g., financial policies, procurement policies, confidentiality, and risk management policies) and communicate policies to suppliers and stakeholders to minimize risks

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree required
8 years' experience working in progressively larger procurement, supply chain, and/or finance roles
5 years' strategic sourcing experience supporting a multi-plant, matrixed organization
Strong knowledge of contract administration/law
Certification and/or License - professional certification in procurement or sourcing a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of a management team, as well as external suppliers and organizations
Strong understanding of category sourcing strategy and management
Highly skilled in development of supplier relationship engagement and management
Passion for excellence in customer service
Ability to analyze complex information and prepare data supporting procurement
Able to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism, able to negotiate under pressure
Able to work collaboratively with employees in a variety of departments and build consensus around key initiatives
Knowledge of market and data analysis, supplier risk management and suppler performance, sourcing category strategy development, negotiation strategy and contract development
Skilled in MS Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint (v-look up, index, and pivot tables)
Able to manage multiple priorities and drive results
Able to influence at all levels internally and externally
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Travel:
15%-25% (1-2 times per quarter)
