Description
The Dairy One Forage Lab is a production lab specializing in feed and forage analytical services. We are looking for an experienced lab technician to oversee daily operations in the NIR (near infrared spectroscopy). Lab Technicians create value for our agricultural customers by producing timely and accurate results. Duties include preparing samples for testing and operating testing equipment to analyze samples. The senior lab technician will supervise a small team of lab technicians, must fully understand the operation of testing equipment and instruments including maintaining and troubleshooting, interface with service engineers to diagnose repairs, and collaborate with other Forage Lab departments to accomplish goals.
The Forage Lab is a production environment, so the ability to maintain accuracy at a fast pace is essential to success in the position. You will be provided with comprehensive on-the-job training and all equipment necessary to perform the job correctly and safely. Requirements
Associate’s Degree in a science related field and at least 3 years of lab experience, preferably in a production-based environment. 1 year in a supervisory role.
Proficient computer skills, preferably using Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to use and/or experience using specialized laboratory software.
