Position
Dakota Radiology is seeking an experienced, energetic indivual with a strong background and experience in patient billing, patient records, and/or patient scheduling and understands the needs for accuracte orders and preauthorization. Prior experience in a similar outpatient medical clinic or hospital environment is preferred. Must like to learn and desire to work as a team providing excellent customer service in a full-time capacity.
General Job Desciption
Daily duties to include all necessary taks to meet our patient's medical imaging needs including the following key patient areas: patient accounts, preauthorizaiton, medical records, claims filing, claim denial management & appeals, investigating and resolving patient billing inquiries, scheduling and medical records.
The chosen candidate must have excellent customer service skills while answering incoming calls, making outgoing calls, obtaining preauthorization for the exams that require it, taking patient payments, understanding & managing successfully patient inquiries for their bills, scheduling exams and medical records.
The tasks associated with this position require attention to detail, time management, constant interaction and professional communication with the team, guests, patients, and medical providers.
Experience Reqiuired:
- Computer experience and be highly proficient in Microsoft
- Strong customer service background
- Familiarity with Medical Terminology
- interaction with Medical Insurance companies for authorizations and eligibility
- Understanding what is a medical necessity
Experience Preferred:
- Previous scheduling of medical appointments in a Clinic or Hospital outpatient setting
- Understanding of what a complete and accurate medical imaging order contains
- Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain compliance
- Prior EPI EMR Experience
Additional Experience considered:
- Billing experience in a medical setting
- Knowledge to work with the Patient Accounts team
- Knowledge and experience to work with the billing company
- Willingness to learn new skills
Education or Certification Requirements:
- High School Diploma
Physical Demands:
- Sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time
- Talking on the phone/headset for long periods of time
- Working on a computer at a specified workstation for extended periods of time
- Continuous work in proximity with staff, and patients seeking medical care
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.05 - $23.31 per hour
