Mutual Fund Controller - New York City - Asset Management
A leading global asset manager investing in equity and fixed income funds is looking to hire a Fund Controller level consultant for a 9-12 assignment. The Fund Controller will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual regulatory reporting requirements as well as 40 ACT & SEC Reporting.
Responsibilities:
Implementation of tailored shareholder reporting (TSR)
Assist with the development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures
Prepare and/or review quarterly board materials
Oversee expense payment and expense budget process with Fund Administrator
Perform regulatory reporting
Assist in the coordination of monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual regulatory reporting requirements through communication with the fund administrator, independent auditors and internal parties (i.e. Form N-PORT, Form N1-A, Form N-2, semiannual and annual reports, Form 10-K/10-Q, Form N-CEN)
Coordinate the production calendars with the service provider and ensure all internal deadlines are met per the production calendar
Coordinate internally sourced documentation for all regulatory filings
Coordinate financial statement comments from internal and external parties
Coordinate the annual audit with our external auditor
Provide oversight of third-party accounting, custody, and fund administration service providers
Prepare support for prospectus and statement of additional information annual update
Oversee daily cash availability and nightly NAV movement reporting with Fund Administrator
Prepare automated workflows using Alteryx
Qualifications:
10 years of experience within fund administration (prefer public and private) with a strong background in 1940 Act Funds
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
Strong background working with 1940 Act Funds
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
Great technical skills (Microsoft Office Suite (Excel), Alteryx)
This is a 9-12 month assignment that will pay $80/hr - $100/hr within a 40 hour work week. They are on a hybrid schedule (3 days in 2 at home)
