POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Athletic Communications (DAC) works collaboratively with the Athletic Director and coaches to support and promote the Dallas Christian College’s athletic programs. The DAC will be responsible for utilizing technology, managing media resources, and maximizing capabilities to market and best represent student-athletes, staff, and Dallas Christian College.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and update the athletic department website and all social media outlets
Coordinate the inputting, deleting, and adjusting of content on the athletic webpages
Coordinate athletic pictures and logos usage
Coordinate and implement all marketing efforts of athletic department on the athletic webpages
Produce all article and press releases from the athletic department
Write up post-game articles
Write up special-focus athletic articles for the website
Establish policies for coaches to meet when information and stats are needed
Oversee all social media accounts for the athletic department
Continually update our athletic department social media accounts with up-to-date information
Provide oversight for sport team media days
Coordinate with head coaches to take team pictures
Oversee statistical software for each program
Coordinate with coaches to make sure accurate stats and records are being taken during games
Coordinate with coaches to make sure weekly stat reports are being submitted to the NCCAA
Other duties and projects as assigned
Responsible for all game operations and game management including hiring and oversite of student workers
Serving as official statistician at various sporting events / NCCAA stat uploads
Coordinating team pictures, editing, and printing game programs
Manage and coordinate all athletic marketing
Assisting with the production of video web casts, streaming service and broadcasting
Historical research
Writing press releases and publishing feature stories (video and written).
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree is required.
Previous experience working in a college sports information office is strongly preferred.
Experience scoring games with StatCrew, PrestoStats, NCCAA LiveStats
Strong writing ability, particularly in AP style, is strongly preferred.
Willingness and ability to work nights and weekends is required.
Ability to work with and troubleshoot various technologies required.
Experience with Photoshop/InDesign is preferred.
Experience with SIDEARM or similar content management system is desired.
Strong ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
