This position is responsible for performing clerical and customer service duties in the recording of official documents.
Processes passport applications.
Receives and reviews documents to ensure compliance with state standards; enters information into computerized database; scans and indexes documents; proofs documents for errors.
Processes Department of Natural Resources transactions; registers ATVs, snowmobiles, off-road vehicles, and boats; ensures compliance with state regulations; calculates and assesses fees; issues hunting and fishing tags.
Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance.
Prepares documents for mailing.
Prepares documents for storage as appropriate.
Certifies documents.
Performs related duties.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One to two years of experience in clerical office work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of county and departmental policies and procedures.
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
Skill in the provision of customer services.
Skill in the maintenance of files and records.
Skill in the use of such office equipment as a computer, scanner, fax machine, and copier.
Skill in oral and written communication.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping.
